Editorial policy

This site is editorially independent. Every article passes a fixed checklist before publication; every sponsorship and affiliate relationship is disclosed.

Vendor neutrality

We discuss multiple tools in the same category — axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse, IBM Equal Access — rather than naming a single product as "the only" or "best" choice. Sponsored articles are visually labelled and never embedded as if they were earned editorial.

Authorship

Articles carry an individual editor byline ("Editor: Jane Doe"). We do not embed corporate affiliation in bylines. This protects the site's transferability: the editor's identity is portable.

Pre-publish checklist

• WCAG SC quotations match the W3C source verbatim.
• All outbound links resolve (HTTP 200 at publish time).
• All version anchors current at publish date.
• Frontmatter lastReviewed set to today.
• Editor field populated with an individual person.
• Banned-phrase grep passes (no single-vendor brand mentions in body).
• NVDA smoke pass on at least one cornerstone change.
• Cobbler's Shoes 9-item gate: axe-core 0, Lighthouse ≥ 95, keyboard, reduced-motion, severity triple-encoding, lang attribute, skip link, heading order, link purpose.

Conflict of interest

When an article touches a sponsor's product category, a second editor reviews and signs off. The sign-off is logged in the quarterly conflict-of-interest log, published at /policy/transparency.

Corrections

We correct factual errors promptly. The corrected article carries an updated lastReviewed date, and substantive corrections are logged in the transparency report.
